What the card means

Upright

Carrying more than was ever yours to carry. Ten wands block the road - he is walking and cannot see where. The house is already close, and that is the cruelty of the card: it can be carried, and the cost only comes out at the end.

Reversed

The load can be put down; you have not tried. Sometimes this is dropping the surplus and the relief of it, sometimes the breaking point where everything gets dropped at once.

Love and relationships

Upright

A relationship where one person carries the household, the decisions and the mood. It holds, and not for long.

Reversed

Either it finally got divided, or all of it was dropped. Both are better than before.

Work and business

Upright

Took on somebody else's and did not notice when. The work is going and all of it is on you. The finish is close, and it has to be reached.

Reversed

Delegating for the first time in a year. Or leaving, because nothing else lets go.

Money

Upright

Obligations that drag: credit, supporting people, other people's costs landing on you. Work out which of it is actually yours.

Reversed

Gave up one obligation and it got lighter faster than expected.

Put part of it down. Not all - part: check each wand and ask whether it is yours. Carry what cannot be handed over; the rest is not yours.

A day with rather too much in it. Good for declining one thing. Poor for agreeing to another.

A man carries an armful of ten wands, bent over; they block his view. A village ahead - close. He is holding all ten and could be carrying five.
