Four of Wands

What the card means

Upright

Something built well enough to celebrate under. Four wands hold up a canopy - not a roof, a temporary shelter people stop and are glad beneath. The card is about a milestone worth marking before it becomes an ordinary day.

Reversed

The home holds, but nobody stops to enjoy it: straight on to the next thing. Or the celebration is a formality - marked because it was due.

Love and relationships

Upright

An engagement, a wedding, a housewarming, meeting the family. The relationship takes a settled shape that everybody can see.

Reversed

Putting off what was worth marking. Or there is a house and no warmth in it.

Work and business

Upright

A stage is finished, the team holds, you can breathe out. A good time to say the interim result out loud.

Reversed

A success nobody noticed, yourself included. Or a workplace where being glad about finished work is not done.

Money

Upright

Stability: enough for what is needed and for the celebration. Good for buying a home and for anything to do with one.

Reversed

Spending more on the appearance of a celebration than it is worth.

The card's advice

Stop and mark it. This is not time off from the work - it is what the work was for. Ask the people you built it with.

As the card of the day

A good day for home and for gathering. Good for marking anything at all. Poor for working alone.

What is depicted

Four wands garlanded into a canopy; beyond it two figures raise flowers, and past them a castle and a bridge. The canopy is open on every side - not a house but a place people stopped on the way.

Zodiac sign and correspondences

Venus in Aries - gladness that does not wait for an occasion.
