Judgement

Major arcanum

Also: The Last Judgement · Major Arcanum 20

Upright

An old decision reopened. A second chance with your eyes open

Reopening, a second chance, a call, reckoning up, forgiveness

Reversed

An old decision being reopened on a loop

Self-condemnation, a loop of doubt, deafness to the call

What the card means

Upright

An old decision opens again - and this time with your eyes open. The card is not about punishment but about reckoning up: it becomes clear what the thing actually was, and that changes what to do next. The call comes from outside and wants an answer rather than consideration.

Reversed

The same decision reopened on a loop and never once settled. Or judging yourself by a standard you would not apply to anybody else. Sometimes a call that is heard and pretended not to be.

Love and relationships

Upright

Coming back to what seemed closed - but differently from how it was. Forgiveness, an explanation, a meeting after time has passed. Good for saying the thing that was never said.

Reversed

Turning the past over without drawing anything from it. Or waiting to be forgiven and not going to ask.

Work and business

Upright

An accounting: a review, a report, a decision about whether you continue. Or a trade you return to as a different person.

Reversed

Being assessed on the past rather than the present. Or being unable to close a project because you keep reassessing it.

Money

Upright

A recalculation, a refund, a payment on an old obligation. What was owed and delayed arrives.

Reversed

Counting and recounting without daring to spend or invest.

The card's advice

Answer the call rather than think it over again. Reckon it up out loud - say what it was. And stop judging yourself more harshly than you would judge anybody else for the same thing.

As the card of the day

A day on which something long-standing comes back. Good for closing a question and answering the letter that has sat since spring. Poor for deferring it again.

What is depicted

An angel sounds a trumpet over water and people rise from open coffins with their arms up - nobody is pulled up, they stand of their own accord. The coffins stay behind. Everyone rises at once: not a sentence on one person but a general accounting.

Zodiac sign and correspondences

Pluto - what brings things up from the bottom and will not let them be put back.

Yes or no

Yes

Yes, and particularly if the question is about going back to something and doing it differently.
